# stake.link: Liquid Staking Protocol

> stake.link lets you stake LINK or POL without locking it up. You deposit LINK, you get stLINK, and stLINK keeps earning staking rewards while you can still trade it, LP it, or use it as collateral anywhere that takes ERC-20 tokens. Same shape for POL via stPOL. SDL is the governance token; lock it up as reSDL to vote and boost your reward share.

## Protocol Overview

- **What it is:** A liquid staking protocol on Ethereum L1.

- **What you get back:** stLINK and stPOL are the rebasing receipt tokens. wstLINK and wstPOL are the non-rebasing wrappers, which is what most DeFi venues want.

## stake.link Agents (MCP)

stake.link Agents is an MCP server at https://www.stakedotlink.money/mcp. It exposes 60 tools: 50 for reading state and planning routes, and 10 that build unsigned transaction calldata you can sign in your own wallet. It also ships 3 markdown resources (AGENTS.md, BUILDER.md, and this file) that agents can pull directly over MCP. The endpoint is public. Just point your client at the URL and go.

### How your agent uses it without holding your keys

1. You tell the MCP your public wallet address. That's it. Nothing secret.
2. It reads your balances and builds the transaction bytes you'd need to send.
3. It runs the transaction against a Tenderly fork of mainnet first, so if something would revert you find out before paying gas.
4. You get back the unsigned calldata.
5. You sign it in your own wallet (viem, ethers, Safe, Fireblocks, whatever you use).

The MCP never sees your private key and it cannot move your tokens. Worst case, it builds calldata you refuse to sign.

### Write tools

- sdl_build_stake_link: Stake LINK into stLINK through the PriorityPool. Uses ERC677 transferAndCall, so no approval step.
- sdl_build_unstake_link: Put stLINK in the redemption queue to get LINK back. FIFO.
- sdl_build_wrap_stlink: Turn rebasing stLINK into non-rebasing wstLINK for anywhere that prefers a fixed balance.
- sdl_build_unwrap_wstlink: Go back the other way, wstLINK to stLINK at the current rate. No approval needed.
- sdl_build_morpho_deposit: Deposit LINK into the Alpha LINK Enhanced V2 Vault (ERC-4626) on Morpho.
- sdl_build_morpho_withdraw: Redeem your vault shares for LINK.
- sdl_build_curve_swap: Swap between LINK and stLINK in the canonical Curve pool.
- sdl_build_curve_lp_add: Add balanced LINK and stLINK liquidity to that same Curve pool.
- sdl_build_curve_gauge_deposit: Stake your Curve LP tokens in the live gauge to earn the gauge rewards.

## Staking Mechanics

### LINK Staking
- Deposit LINK, get stLINK back. stLINK rebases, so your balance grows as rewards come in.
- stLINK stays liquid. Trade it on Curve, post it as collateral on Morpho, do whatever.
- Want to exit at the guaranteed protocol rate? Queue it. Unbonding period is 28 days.
- Want out now? Swap stLINK for LINK on Curve. Slippage typically 0.1% to 0.5%.
- Performance fee: 10%

### POL Staking
- Deposit POL, get stPOL back. Also rebasing.
- Unbonding period: 21 days.
- Performance fee: 10%

### SDL Governance
- Lock SDL for anywhere from 1 week to 4 years. You get back a reSDL NFT (ERC-721) representing the lock.
- The boost multiplier scales with lock length: 1x for the shortest locks, up to 9x for a full 4 year lock.
- Your boosted SDL earns a share of protocol rewards in both stLINK and stPOL, proportional to boost power.
- Voting power = SDL amount x boost multiplier. Longer lock, bigger vote.

## DeFi Integrations

- **Curve:** The stLINK/LINK stable pool. Your instant exit if you don't want to wait out unbonding, and it runs an SDL gauge for extra incentives.
- **Morpho:** wstLINK has a lending vault plus an isolated market. Deposit wstLINK, earn lending yield on top of the underlying LINK staking rewards.
- **Folks Finance:** wstLINK is live as a lending asset on the Avalanche xApp.
- **Uniswap V3:** The canonical SDL/LINK pool sits at the 1% fee tier.
- **Beefy Finance:** Autocompounding vault on top of the Curve stLINK/LINK LP.
- **Curve Polygon:** wstPOL/wPOL stable pool on the Polygon side.

## Governance

- **Snapshot spaces:** community.stakedotlink.eth is open to all holders. council.stakedotlink.eth is the council space with a 7-member threshold.
